Sneaker Lovers Can Get Their Kicks With These Cool Items

Now, you can own a part of advertising history.
Freedom Of Creation (FOC) designers, Janne Kyttanen and Mads Thomsen, produced this Laser Sintered creation for the international ad agency Amsterdam Worldwide for its client Onitsuka Tiger ‘ASICS’ premium heritage brand and the ad campaign called Electric Tigerland. (By the way, the recent Tansu Shoe for Onitsuka Tiger by Amsterdam Worldwide won a Gold Lion at the 2010 Cannes Advertising Festival for design)

The meter-long shoe called the ‘Electric Light Shoe’ was central to the global Electric Tiger Land campaign for 2008. The 70 cm and 40 cm sized versions were created for Onitsuka Tiger stores world-wide and are now available for purchase.

Several additional designs were produced by FOC to support the campaign such as USB sticks, keyholders, POS material, shoe displays etc. and now you can buy some of these items.

The Electric Shoe
Created for the 2008 Onitsuka Tiger brand campaign, The Electric Light Shoe was the 2nd in the series of iconic sneaker sculptures developed from the agency's ‘Made of Japan’ strategy.



The one meter long ‘city in a sneaker’ was inspired by and pays homage to the Toyko cityscape and provided a platform to tell more stories about the brand to engage the target audience.





The sculpture was used in POS, online and television advertising and received numerous awards and now is your chance to own one.

The Human Form As Seen By Contemporary Sculptor Emil Alzamora.

By deftly crafting and casting bronze, porcelain, ceramic, and gypsum into metaphorical, fantastical and literal interpretations of the human form, Peruvian born Emil Alzamora's work conjures up that of numerous and varied renowned sculptors such as Brancusi, Botero and Giacometti. The surreal imagery of Magritte and Dali also come to mind when admiring these hauntingly beautiful renderings of the male and female form.






























The Artist's Statement:
The human form is a constant within my work. I am interested in exploring what it means to inhabit one, often exaggerating or distorting different aspects of the form to reveal an emotional or physical situation, or to tell a story about a predicament or an occurrence. The space between limitation and potential is as human as the flesh, yet hardly as tangible. In my works I strive to make visible this interaction.


Emil Alzamora was born in Lima, Peru in 1975 and raised in Boca Grande, Florida. There he attended Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Alzamora started his sculpting career in the Hudson Valley working with Polich Art Works as an enlarger in the Fall of 1998. Since leaving P.A.W. in early 2001, he has produced and shown his work throughout New York Boston main and Florida. He currently resides and works in beacon, NY.

Human Crayons, Plaster Heads & Lip Jewelry By Designer Heli Hietala

I have already shared with you the fabulous carved crayola crayons by Diem Chau. Now, here's another artist/designer who has crafted human-shaped colored crayons.



COLOURS by designer Heli Kristina Hietala are crayons shaped as the human figure. The intent was to show the results of involvement between characters and how communication can range from soft, stimulating, balancing or dirtying (the designers words), depending upon the character which is chosen.

For the 2005 project, she created about 100 crayons, packed in 10 boxes which contain 10 pieces each.





Heli uses the human form, head and facial characteristics in several of her other unusual works as well. Her 2009 "Spirits of Medicine" consist of 30 plaster cast heads, each placed in medical prescription bottles.




And some of her jewelry designs incorporate castings of full feminine lips like the bracelet and tin rings shown below:
