The idea was to create spellbinding works of art; what resulted was We Are Handsome. Born on the cusp of summer 2009, these colourful palettes of inspiration and finely shaped cuts recall the halcyonic, sun drenched days of old, of Indhra Chagoury’s big beautiful Queensland childhood, of Jeremy Jules Somers’ Big Bad Smoke.

We Are Handsome is the embodiment of Indhra and Jeremy and everyone else who has a love for the beautiful things in life. Their desire to create, design and share perfection has understandably made them a hit with the world, but We Are Handsome still remains true to their roots.

Every piece is 100% Australian designed, every thread is Australian sewn and every We Are Handsome suit is loved. We hope that you are too.

You gotta love a crafter who labels her textile designs with the sign-off "Made With Hate." At least I do. On her own site she describes herself as follows: "Boo Davis is a designer, illustrator and quiltmaker living in Seattle. She spent much of her youth cozied up under her grandmother's quilt listening to Ozzy. As a grown-up metalhead and design geek, the intersection of cute and evil is what she finds most compelling."




This is apparent in her hip quilts. No grandma patchwork for this gal, instead Quiltsrÿche blends rock n' roll imagery, attitude and a smart sense of color and design. Her graphic and edgy quilts are reminiscent of another modern quilter, Denyse Schmidt, only on acid.

About the designer:

Heather’s inspiration comes from examining the ordinary. The collections are based on vintage typography, eye charts and conversation bubbles — images that are instantly identifiable but unexpected on soft goods.

Our current collections are screen printed by hand with water-based ink onto natural-fiber fabrics. All pieces are screen printed and sewn in the U.S.A. Our pillows, place mats, napkins and coasters are printed on one side only.

All pieces are machine-washable in cold water and mild detergent. Avoid harsh detergents as prints will fade. Air dry or tumble dry on low and iron with high heat. Expect 5% shrinkage. Do not dry clean or bleach.
