above photo:black leather driving gloves with white gold nails
Founded in late 2008, London based Dominic Jones Jewellery is fast becoming hot property amongst the fashion elite. The new "It Boy" for celeb jewelry, designer Jones' Tooth And Nail collection consists of rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, belts and gloves embellished with fangs, thorns, teeth and claw-like accents.
While all of his pieces are unique and artfully crafted, it's his leather gloves complete with real yellow or white gold fingernails that stand apart from other jewelry and fashion accessories.

About Dominic Jones (courtesy of London Fashion Week):
Dominic Jones was born in Buckinghamshire, England. In 2003 Dominic moved to London to study BA Contemporary Jewellery Design at The Sir John Cass School of Art and Design. Alongside his studies, he collaborated on several projects with the hugely influential London art collective !WOWOW! In 2008, with the help and funding of good friend and now business partner Alice Dellal, Dominic set up his company Dominic Jones Jewellery.
Trained as a fine jeweler, Dominic applies traditional techniques to current design principles. Specialising in gold and precious stones he uses five times the average amount of gold than conventional hard gold plating, creating a higher quality finish to this process.

His debut collection ‘Tooth & Nail” launched in March 2009, receiving fantastic critical acclaim and support from fashion insiders throughout London. Almost immediately Dominic could count Kristen Stewart, Devon Aoki, Alexa Chung and Sienna Miller as his ambassadors.
The British Fashion Council awarded Dominic with BFC New Generation sponsorship for Spring Summer 2010, making him one of the only fine jewelers to ever receive this. Dominic Jones is now stocked globally and ambassadors extend to Beyonce, Vivienne Westwood and Rihanna.

What I Want Right Now - Ear Chain
I'm seriously considering getting a helix piercing just so I can wear an ear chain like the ones above. I really love the style but I'd probably prefer them with more/longer chains and in funkier colours. I already have my lobes pierced twice but the only thing I don't like about getting another piercing is the required maintenance afterwards.
I would love to find one that doesn't require another piercing like the one below which just hooks over the top over the ear but no such luck as yet. If any of you knows where I can find one or you make jewelry and you're willing to do a customized one for a reasonable price, please let me know!

A jilbab comes in various styles
A jilbab comes in various styles, colours and designs which when combined form a unique fashion. A jilbab does not have to be a piece of cloth that is stitched for you to wear but it can look good too. We can make our own fashion with the jilbab. There are now new designs that a jilbab comes in and that is fashion for muslim women. We get hijabs to match it and that completes our fashion as a modern muslim woman. We can now get a designer jilbab, sporty jilbab, casual jilbab, a jilbab for wedding and also a fashion jilbab. There are different colours in which a jilbab comes in and some are good for summer while other for winter. For example, black and grey in a jilbab are good colours for winter while peach and sky blue are good for summer.
Fashion is a term that usually applies to a person that is often wearing the clothes that are of the fashion or style of the time. We make our own fashion whether it is for a jilbab or a hijab or both. A jilbab that covers you fully, is comfortable and has a style to it is the perfect one in fashion. A jilbab that caters for different body shapes and fashion preferences is the beat one. An individuals taste matters too. One might prefer the sporty jilbab and say that, that is fashion for them while the other person could say that the casual jilbab is fashion for them. In fact they are all in fashion but it depends on the occasion you are wearing them for. Every jilbab and fashion has a time and place. In conclusion a jilbab with style is the jilbab in fashion.
Sharpies Rock The Runway. Rodarte S/S 2010 Collection Includes Sharpie Body Art.
Sharpie® markers are fast becoming a truly recognized art medium. Along with the glut of unexpected artful uses as shown on my previous post, And You Thought Sharpies We're For Writing Your Name In Your Underwear, the permanent laundry marker has made its way into the world of Couture.
Pasadena based fashion designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the women behind the brand Rodarte, (and fellow graduates of my alma mater, UC Berkeley) featured their Spring Summer 2010 Ready-To-Wear collection accented with hand drawn tattoos and body art applied with a Sharpie marker to the runway models.
Applying the Sharpie art before the show:
As eerie yellow and green lit dry ice poured from the stage, models emerged clad in the latest Rodarte designs donning what at first looked like tribal tattoos and upon closer inspection- and information- turned out to be Sharpie marker drawings in black.
The runway show:
The drawn-on designs accented the collection beautifully without detracting from it, and were a welcome surprise replacement for what could have been clunky jewelry.
